WarnerBros has pulled a strategic move and bumped the release of its upcoming feature musical In the Heights a week earlier to June 11, making it the only major release that week. The film was previously scheduled for a release date of June 18, the same week Disney/Pixar’s Luca is scheduled to drop. Now the screen adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes’s award-winning musical will have the stage all to itself.
The film will also be available on HBO Max that same day, following the streamer’s deal with WarnerBros for simultaneous digital and theater releases.
WarnerBros recently released the film’s trailer earlier this week, which you can check out below.
In the Heights was originally scheduled to be released in theaters last summer but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
