Hulu Makes it on to Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming List with ‘Nomadland’

In a popularity contest usually dominated by Netflix, Hulu has made a breakout appearance in Nielsen’s recent weekly rankings for most minutes streamed during the week ending February 21. The platform’s acquired, award-winning film Nomadland made it to No. 8 on the streaming movie list alongside a slew of Netflix and Disney+ titles.

Netflix leads the pack with its psychological thriller I Care a Lot taking first place with 790 million minutes of streaming time. Disney+ secured the second and third spots with Flora & Ulysses and Moana but, but hardly compared to the Netflix original in terms of streaming minutes.

As for original series, Netflix’s docuseries Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel pulled in 806 million minutes of viewing time, landing it in the top sport for the week, with Firefly Lane coming in at No. 2. The streamer also swept all but one other spot on the list, interrupted only by the Disney+ Marvel series WandaVision which made third place with 720 minutes across its 7 episodes. Also making appearances were Netflix’s popular series The Crown, Bridgerton, Cobra Kai, and more.
