Selena Gomez will continue honing her cooking skills with a third season of Selena + Chef. HBO Max announced that it will be renewing the unscripted series, with the third season premiering later this year.
In Season 3, Gomez will continue her cooking adventures at home with a new roster of all-star chefs who will guide her through creating new, delicious dishes. As in the first two seasons, each chef will highlight one of their favorite charities in their episode. To date, the series has raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations.
Selena + Chef began streaming during the pandemic as the singer and actress presented the series as a way for her to build some culinary skills to help her get out of the quarantine rut.
“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen,” Gomez said in an announcement about the series being picked up by HBO Max in May 2020.
Selena Gomez is currently starring in Only Murders in the Building, a series created by Steve Martin and co-starring Steve Martin and Martin Short. The series is streaming on Hulu. She also voices Mavis in the upcoming Hotel Transylvania: Transformania which is set to be released this summer.
