Disney+ Will Celebrate May the 4th with Star Wars Fan Art

To celebrate May the 4th, otherwise known as Star Wars Day, Disney+ is featuring fan art for Star Wars movies and series.

The first fan art to be featured on Disney+ went up on the streaming service today. On the Disney+ landing page, you’ll find artwork showing the duality of good vs evil, featuring characters from across Star Wars shows and movies. Disney says the artist teamed up with the Disney+ design team to animate the artwork when navigating the app to go to each brand landing page.

“We are constantly challenging ourselves to create experiences that engage fans more deeply and creatively with the Disney+ user interface,” said Jerrell Jimerson, Executive Vice President of Products and Design at Disney+. “Whenever they open the app, we want viewers to feel like they are entering a truly unique Disney experience. For this year’s “May the 4th,” we teamed up with Lucasfilm to celebrate the fans that make this day possible by showcasing multiple pieces of impressive fan art created by the Star Wars community on Disney+.”

Artwork will be featured from Tuesday, May 4 through Saturday, May 9. During that time, each movie and series’ illustrations will be updated to feature the original one-of-a-kind artwork. You’ll find the artwork on the following titles:

  • Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
