Apple’s ‘Ted Lasso’ Gets Renewed for a Second Season

Apple’s award-winning comedy Ted Lasso starring Jason Sudeikis is getting a second season. The announcement was made with a new trailer drop during the Apple event Tuesday. Season 2 began shooting in January of this year and the series will be released on Apple TV+ July 23 with new episodes rolling out weekly.

The whole concept between Ted Lasso stemmed from a promotional video commissioned by NBC Sports years ago, with Sudeikis as a football coach who accidentally winds up signing with a London-based soccer team. Apple picked it up and turned it into a full series that’s become hugely popular and one of Apple TV+’s biggest shows.

Golden Globe winner Jason Sudeikis is Ted Lasso, an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team—despite having no experience. But what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination…and biscuits
