Amazon’s newly redesigned Fire TV remote was released last month and made available for pre-orders. The Alexa Voice Remote (3rd Gen) is now available for $29.99 with free Prime shipping.
The new remote includes buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu to take you straight to your streaming service. Other than the dedicated streaming service buttons, the other major change is a blue Alexa button at the top of the remote. This button replaces the back microphone button for using voice commands. Another slight difference is the Fire TV logo at the bottom of the remote.
If you’re up for waiting a bit longer, the remote will also be part of a bundle with the Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen) for $39.99. The bundle is available for pre-order now and will begin shipping on April 28.
The new Alexa Voice Remote (3rd Gen) is compatible with the following devices:
- Fire TV Stick Lite
- Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen and later)
- Fire TV Stick 4K
- Fire TV Cube (1st Gen and later)
- Fire TV (3rd Gen, Pendant Design)
The remote is not compatible with Fire TV (1st and 2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick (1st Gen), or Fire TV Edition smart TVs. While the Alexa Voice Remote (3rd Gen) is compatible with many popular TVs, soundbars, and A/V receivers, it is not compatible with all brands or models.
