When wanting to work from home and searching for the best business opportunity for you to invest you money into, it can get pretty overwhelming with the vast amount of different companies that you have the option to represent. My purpose with writing this is to give the most pertinent information that anyone may want to know when trying to decide what company to be involved with, such as what they sell and how you can make money with them. Corporation’s background, and what do they sell?

The Shaklee Corporation was founded in 1956 by Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee and is based in Pleasanton, California. The company is a distributor of nutritional supplements, weight-management products, household products and beauty products. Dr. Shaklee started his development of nutritional supplements back in 1915 when he created “Shaklee’s Vitalized Minerals”. This was well before the concept of vitamins was fully understood.

How can you make money with Shaklee?

The company’s products are sold through a MLM system. This is exactly how an individual working with this company would make their money. The MLM (multi-level marketing) structure is based on multiple levels of compensation, meaning that not only will the seller/referrer make money on their own sales/referrals but will also profit off of sales/referrals made by people who they recruit (their downline). For example, 2% earnings at the 3rd level down, 4% at the 2nd level, 9% at the 1st level, and 13% for a personal sale. These are not necessarily the exact percentages for this company, but it should give you a better idea of how the MLM structure can be used to make you money.

What are some pros and/or cons of the Shaklee Corporation?

The company currently has more than 750,000 members and distributors. Shaklee was the first company in the world to receive a Climate Neutral certification for their products having a net zero impact on the environment due to their CO2 emissions being completely offset. The company not only operates in the United States but also in Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Mexico and China. From the multiple studies that I researched, the company’s products seem to be able to do what they claim from a nutritional standpoint. At least one of their products (re-hydration beverage) is currently still in use by NASA shuttle astronauts, and there are also at least 15 Olympic athletes who use Shaklee products.

It can be VERY difficult to get a home based business started and running properly. Many people sit back watching everyone else around them make money without ever experiencing success of their own. One of the number one aspects in this industry that holds most people back is Lead Generation. If you don’t already know, a lead is someone who has shown interest in a product or service that you have to offer and may want more information about that product or service. BUT if those people who might be interested don’t even know about you, your website or your product, then you are not going to make any money.
