So many Network Marketers are sent out into the world with their new found excitement of starting a new business and told to make a list of everyone they know. This list includes friends, family, children’s friend’s parents, teachers, local business employees, and the list goes on.
The problem is this; they go out to talk to these people, overwhelmingly excited, and end up spewing all over the other person about how wonderful this business opportunity and products are that they end up chasing people away. This leaves the new business builder confused, frustrated, and eventually they will burn out and quit. –Ask a lot of questions. The person who asks the most questions is in control of the conversation and you want the control.
–Ask questions that will begin determining if the person is a right fit for your team or if they even have a need or desire for the business opportunity or products. Only work with people you want to work with. I know this is a bizarre concept for a lot of Network Marketers but I guarantee you there are plenty of people out there who need and want what you are have, so choose wisely. One of the worst things you could do is sign someone up who you don’t care for or someone who isn’t serious. They will waste your time or worse, you won’t want to give them your time and neither one of you will succeed.
–Once there is a need or desire established do NOT spill out all the details about the company, business plan, and products. Send the prospect to a third party source for more information like a website, video, DVD, CD, conference call, etc.
–Follow up, follow up, follow up. Again ask lots of questions to determine further if it’s a good fit for them and for you. Again, only sign those who are serious, self-motivated, and whom you like.
–If at any point during any conversations, they show lack of interest or you determine it isn’t a good fit then let them off the hook, be understanding, and drop it. If they change their mind later, they will know where to find you and can ask you about it later.

Every person and situation is different and so all you need are these key points. As long as you have a plan on how to get daily new prospects to talk to (like generating your own leads , not paying for leads ) and as long as you follow the tips above you WILL have success with MLM recruiting and in your business.
