With Cataclysm comes some new ores that you can mine and use in power leveling other professions. With the launch of Cataclysm these ores were selling quite well. But what I wanted to do was give you names of the new ores in Cataclysm and where you can find them.
Obsidian:
The first new ore you will come across is an ore called Obsidian. It is what you may call a common mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire,Volatile Earth, and Volatile Shadow. Which you can sell these Volatiles on the Auction House for anywhere close to $20-$30 gold a piece. A single Ore has already dropped to around $6-9 gold a piece and I suspect will keep dropping in cost. At this moment you can turn them into bars which is holding market value a little bit stronger.
For Prospecting Purposes You Can Find Carnelian, Hessonite, zephyrite, Alicite, Jasper, Demonseye, Ember Topaz, Inferno Ruby, Amberjewel, Dream Emerald, and Ocean sapphire…which sells quite well.
It takes 2 obsidian ores to smelt one Obsidian Bar.
Elementium Ore
Elementium is the new uncommon mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, Volatile Water, or Volatile Earth. It is a little bit tougher to get this ore, but with any trip around Deepholm you should be able to get a good share of it. Deepholm is a little bit different in mining because the entire place is rock, so there are deposits located everywhere.
For Prospecting Purposes You Can Find Carnelian, Hessonite, zephyrite, Alicite, Jasper, Demonseye, Ember Topaz, Inferno Ruby, Amberjewel, Dream Emerald, and Ocean sapphire…which sells quite well.
It takes 2 Elementium Ore to make one Elementium Bars.
Pyrite Ore
This can be found at Twilight Highlands, Uldum, Ahn’Qiraj: The Fallen Kingdom Pyrite is the new rare mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems and Volatile Fire.
For Prospecting You can find Carnelian, Hessonite, zephyrite, Alicite, Jasper, Demonseye, Ember Topaz, Inferno Ruby, Amberjewel, Dream Emerald, and Ocean sapphire, Volatile Earth, Inferno Ruby
